2025 Summer Job & Internship Fair

The Summer Job and Internship Fair will take place on Thursday, March 6, from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. in the Reid Campus Center Young Ballroom.
This event is an excellent opportunity for students to learn about different organizations and get face time with recruiters. Fifteen organizations will be on site, including Baker Boyer Bank, City of Walla Walla, Gesa Power House Theatre, The STAR Project and Walla Walla Valley Chamber of Commerce.
Student Career Advisors in the Career and Community Engagement Center (CCEC) are available to help start or revise your resume or to strategize on questions to ask recruiters. Schedule an appointment via Handshake or stop by and meet with a Student Career Advisor during drop-in hours. Additional strategies for preparing to attend a career fair are outlined in this flyer.

Politics Professor Presents Research at International Conference
|
Assistant Professor of Politics Denise Fernandes recently shared her research on the “Geoeconomics of Solar Photovoltaic Development in the U.S.” at the Second Global Financial Geography Conference at the National University of Singapore. Fernandes works on the global climate and financial politics that shape renewable energy landscapes in India and Morocco.

Whitman Undergraduate Conference Submissions Due Today

The 27th annual Whitman Undergraduate Conference will take place on Tuesday, April 15. Students are invited to register to participate with posters, artwork, presentations, performances and panel discussions. Registration is due Tuesday, March 4. (Flyer attached.)

Fraternities Host Talk by Accountability Expert
|
Sigma Chi and Beta Theta Pi have invited Sam Silverstein to deliver a public talk titled “Building a Sustainable, High-Performance Team Culture” on Saturday, March 8, from 1–2:30 p.m. in Maxey Auditorium. Silverstein is the founder and CEO of The Accountability Institute and the author of 12 books. His mission is to empower people to live accountable lives, transform the way they do business and thrive. (Flyer attached.)

Friday Is Employee Appreciation Day

Dialogue & Dignity Series Event on Friday
|
The Dialogue and Dignity Series will continue with a talk titled “Reimagine Resilience: Storytelling as a Portal to Prevention” on Friday, March 7, at 7:30 p.m. in Olin Auditorium. (Flyer attached.) Dr. Amra Sabic-El-Rayess is an award-winning author, scholar and Columbia University professor who works to build community belonging and nurture resilience to hate. Her first nonfiction work “The Cat I Never Named” is widely taught in K–12 classrooms.

Congratulations to the Whitman women’s basketball team for winning the Northwest Conference Tournament this weekend following an undefeated season! The Blues are ranked fifth nationally and will compete in the 2025 NCAA Women’s Basketball Tournament, with an opening game in Wisconsin.
